About the Role

EJDB is looking for a self-driven entry-level designer to join our growing team . If you have an interior design background with AutoCAD skills and love re-designing existing space and creating new space, this would be a perfect fit for you. If you have an architectural background and love working with interiors, this would be a perfect fit for you. Many of our projects include renovation work which involve interior architectural changes and require a complete set of construction documents to submit for permitting. Your role is essential in drafting those documents and working with our lead designer to manage projects from conceptualization to completion.

Responsibilities:​

  • Accurately field measure and transcribe to as-built drawings

  • Works directly with lead designer and principal to create as-built drawings, conceptual design drawings, permit drawings, and construction documents

  • Creatively solve spatial problems with an eye for the aesthetics

  • Research local zoning laws, environmental factors, and structural issues relevant to projects

  • Keep paper trails, collect payments, and log design hours, receipts, and expenses

  • Prioritize a positive and exciting experience for the client

  • Work with client, including but not limited to, showroom visits, providing samples, providing resources, etc.

  • Research and stay current with latest design trends (materials, finishes, fixtures, appliances, etc.)

  • Submit and track orders through our procurement schedule

  • Help maintain the project and purchasing budget


Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in the interior design or architectural field

  • AutoCAD (must be fluent)

  • SketchUp (Bonus Points)

  • Revit + Chief Architect Software (Double Bonus Points)

  • Graphic Design Capabilities (Adobe Suite - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) (Triple Bonus Points)
